About the Bell Tower Community Association
|
Who are we?
|
The Bell Tower Community Association was founded in October
2005, to help generate some community spirit in a small corner of
Reading. The Association is completely independent, with no affiliation to any
political or religious organisations.
For those unfamiliar with the area, Reading is a town of
about 150,000 inhabitants, 40 miles west of London. It is at the
heart of the Thames Valley, often known as the UK's 'Silicon
Valley' because of its concentration of high-tech industries.
|
Where are we?
|
We are in the area between Reading town centre and
Caversham. Our boundaries are Caversham Road, Northfield Road,
Barry Place, the residential end of Cardiff Road, Addison
Road, Denbeigh Place and Randolph Road. Here is a map of our area
(courtesy of Reading Borough Council). You can find a clickable
map of our area from Google
here.

How can we be contacted?
|
If you would like to find out more about us or can help with
local activities please send an email to
.
|
Where does the name come from?
|
At the centre of our area is the bell tower belonging to the E
P Collier Primary School, our main landmark that can be seen
from all over the area. The neighbourhood has no historic
name, so we thought it would be fitting to
use this landmark in our logo and name.

What's going on in the area?
|
We produce a quarterly newsletter, Neighbourhood News.
Printed copies are distributed free to all households and
businesses in our area - our total circulation is around 600. You can download
Neighbourhood News here.
Our events page has information on local events, along with plenty of photos of our recent activities.
